Tiki's survival guide

The Alocasia Amazonica is one of many species of Alocasia (almost 100 unique species!). It's commonly known as an African Mask or Elephant's Ear plant. The dark leaves with striking white veins make it a popular houseplant. Those beautiful leaves can grow to up to 40 cm in length. Alocasia thrive in bright, indirect sunlight - as much as they can get. Like a lot of tropical plants, water is important - the soil in the spring and summer should always be moist - but not soaking wet. Alocasia can be a challenging plant to care for, but when you get it right, it is incredibly rewarding!

How to care for Tiki

Bright, indirect light

Alocasia plants thrive in bright, indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorching. Keep them near a window for ideal conditions.

Requires frequent watering

Alocasia prefers consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
