Lil Nas's survival guide

Call me by my scientific name

Lil Nas made big ripples in our greenhouse when he slid down our custom silver pole (everybody has one, it’s not weird), into his plot of soil and unfurled his dark, velvety leaves. We were all like, “Oh my god”, and he was like, “No. It’s me, Satan. Didn’t you hear?” And then he serenaded us in a pair of miniature leather boots. It was a beautiful experience and we’ve readjusted our pole so it goes the other way. See you all there.

What makes Lil Nas so special

You may live in the dark, we cannot pretend, but that doesn’t mean Lil Nas should. In fact, Lil Nas is quite particular about all aspects of his care. He needs bright but indirect light and likes warm, humid areas and moist (but not wet, but not dry!) soil. Please wait for the top two inches of his soil to dry between waterings and don’t worry about the dancing. That’s part of the package. If you can't keep the humidity levels high enough, be sure to spray his leaves whenever you're not busy scrolling through your insta feed or doing other important work. Hey who said taking care of plants was easy! Hey...where are you going? Come back!

How do you measure height?

Good question! We measure the height from the top of the plant to the bottom of the pot (including the pot itself).

Got a gift card for my birthday in the gift box (Fred the air plant was much larger than expected!) and after much though and deliberation given how large their assortment is, chose three plants to order. All three arrived earlier than expected and in fairly good condition, in very well planned packaging that even included a heat pack. They were a bit smushed but they seemed healthy - no pests - and are doing well now. The only problem I had was with just how full the pots were which made them a bit difficult to transport and water especially since they were pretty large given their pot size; definitely have to repot them within the year. Oh and the ceramic pot I ordered as well came and looks very cute! It's a touch small for their nursery pots, they fit inside but with a bit of a lip over the top, but otherwise look great. Definitely would recommend and plan on buying more in the future :D Read less

So stoked on our order! It came in quick, in great conditions and the plants are lovely. They also use cardboard and brown paper, which is great! There was no plastic in the packaging. They even added 2 succulents as a gift in our order. Kelsi, one of their staff member even reached out to me to make sure I didn't make a mistake because not all the pots I ordered fit the plants I ordered (it was for some plants that I already owned, but how sweet?!) First time we purchased for Plantsome and definitely not the last. Great experience!! Read less
