How to care for Romaine

Partial light or shade

Loves medium to bright, indirect light to keep its broad fronds a vivid, healthy green. Keep it out of direct sun, which can scorch its glossy leaves and wash out its bright color.

Requires frequent watering

Water when the top 25–30% of the soil mix feels dry. Water around the edges of the pot directly into the soil—avoid pouring water straight into the center "nest" (the crown), as trapped water can cause rot!
