A plump, sun-baked traveler.

Mateo is a laid-back, sun-worshipping wanderer who looks like he is constantly packed and ready for a desert road trip. He trades ordinary flat foliage for long, heavy braids of thick, round, bead-like leaves that look like tiny plump jelly beans. Mateo is a cousin to Barnaby the Donkey Tail, sharing that same cozy, effortlessly cool energy, but he keeps his trailing stems a bit more compact and tightly rounded. He loves to hang out right in a bright, sun-drenched window or on a sunny patio, soaking up at least six hours of light a day to keep his green tails thick. He is an incredibly independent fellow who hoards water inside his chunky leaves, meaning he absolutely despises soggy soil and prefers to be left completely dry between sips. He can be a bit ticklish and fragile—if you bump into him too hard, a few of his round leaves might pop off, but this easy-going guy will simply sprout a brand new baby plant wherever those leaves land on the soil.

They store water in their succulent leaves which means this burrito boy doesn't mind your forgetful watering habits. Keep yours away from direct sunlight as that will burn the leaves to a crisp and water occasionally when the top soil has dried out.
