Peperomia prostrata is a charming trailing plant loved for its tiny round leaves patterned like miniature turtle shells. Its delicate cascading vines create a soft, textured look that makes it perfect for hanging planters, shelves, or terrariums. Despite its dainty appearance, String of Turtles is relatively easy to care for once you find the right balance of light and watering.
Place it in bright indirect light to encourage compact growth and maintain the beautiful leaf patterning. Water when the top layer of soil feels dry, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings without staying bone dry for too long. This semi-succulent peperomia enjoys warm temperatures between 18–27°C and appreciates moderate humidity for best growth. With gentle care and bright conditions, String of Turtles develops into a lush cascading plant full of intricate detail and personality.
